The Trust was set up by Osino Gold Mining and Exploration (Pty) in 2021 to house and expand its corporate social investment activities. The Trust takes its name from Osino’s Twin Hills Gold Project near the town of Karibib, in the Erongo Region.
A regional socio-economic baseline study and a review of the Namibian government’s development priorities were used to identify the following areas for funding:
• Health initiatives, infrastructure, land and housing for lower-income communities
• Disaster and relief projects
• Early childhood development
• Supporting high-performing scholars and students
• Assisting educational organisations provide higher-quality education
• Vocational training and skills development for youth and young adults
• Enterprise development, prioritising women and youth
• Training in arts and culture
• Environmental conservation and rehabilitation
The Twin Hills Trust is supported by Osino and its key suppliers and investors.
“The vision is for the Trust to become self-sustaining and independent of Osino, and the social investment vehicle of choice for all of our partners active at the Twin Hills Gold Project. We are excited that a growing number of service providers, suppliers and investors are deciding to support the Trust’s work.”
